Resources Exploring “Santa Claus”

Have Fun Lesson Planning Santa Claus

Christmas week will be here before we can be fully prepared. It can get a little crazy the last few weeks before the school break. This post is filled with quick fillers for when you have some time to fill or when the kids need to take a breather. As an Amazon Associate I can earn a small commission for links in this blog.

There are seven online readings of some neat and fun Santa books. Each book is accompanied by a FREE resource from some amazing teacher creators at TpT. I have included six cool Santa Bonus Songs at the end of the post. Want more Christmas resources? Check out my other blogs The Nativity and Countdown to Christmas posts. Thank you and Merry Christmas!

How Santa Got His Job

“When Santa was young and needed a job, no one was looking for a man in a red suit to deliver gifts on Christmas. So Santa tried just about everything — from a chimney sweep to a postman to a circus performer. But none of these worked out. It wasn’t until he met a group of elves who helped him use all his special talents, that Santa was able to find his dream job.” – Exerpt Amazon

Santa’s Stuck

“This playful picture book answers the age-old question: Just how does Santa shimmy up and down chimneys? Not very easily sometimes! When the rotund fellow with a sweet tooth overdoes it on the snacks, he gets stuck inside a chimney. The reindeer on the roof try pulling him out, to no avail. A dog, a cat, and some kittens try pushing from below, with no luck. It takes a tiny, ingenious mouse to come up with the way to POP! Santa out so that Christmas can go on. Good show—ho, ho, ho!” – Excerpt Amazon

Bonus: Santa Songs

The last couple of videos are some fun songs you might want to share with your students. There are lots of playlists on YouTube and you never know what is in the mix. These are here for quick access to some cool Santa songs. Merry Christmas!

S-A-N-T-A

This song is similar to the song “B-I-N-G-O” only uses the word Santa. Excellent for a brain break! Have kids stand and clap hands or do other fun movements as they sing the song.

Santa, Where Are You?

Another fun song from Super Simple Songs. This is a cool song for teaching kids locations or an into to prepositions of place.

Santa Claus is Coming to Town

This version is from Busy Beavers. It has the words on the bottom of the simple video animation.

Here Comes Santa Claus

Another song from Busy Beavers. Kids singing the songs and watching the words on the screen will help to reinforce reading skills.

It Must Be Santa

Kids night not be familiar with this Christmas song, however, I am sure they will have a lot of fun leaning to sing.

Up On The Housetop

The last song is from Super Simple Songs. Classic and fun. Kids can get the wiggles out and have fun singing and dancing to “Up On The Housetop.”

Drawing Santa Lesson

Meet Rob from Art for Kids Hub. As a teacher I appreciate his patience and art drawing lessons for kids. In this episode he is with his son Chuckers and they draw a Santa face. If you share this with younger kids simply pause periodically to let them catch up. Enjoy!
